Please describe it a bit further.

Oil pressure should peg on start up, and drop to about 1.5 bar give or take when at hot idle. Guage should peg when the RPM's come off idle.

Now what light are you talking about? The low oil level light? Was the oil level really low or is the light acting up? When the light comes on you should check the oil, remember we are talking about a $40k engine.

oil pressure problems.... 94 s600.....v12

The light is a red light right at the 0 mark of the 123 bar indicator. Sometimes i can tap the brake and the light will come back up a little. Could it possibly be the oil pump..if so can i replace it myself. I work on ALOT of cars etc. Its really weird because the engine seems to be running great. Whenever i check the oil it looks fine. All i can hear in the engine is that pesky tapping noise comming from a lifter on the front cylinder i cant seem to quiet. Can i get that adjusted? The lifter ticking that is. I REALLLLY app. ur help.

Probably a bad oil sender or even a bad oil gauge in the IC. Since you have been driving it, if it was the oil pump, you would have seized the engine

BION, failure of the oil gauge is quite high. . . .

As far as the 'ticking', it most likely due to an open oil tube. MENU#19 shows how to fix it.

Low oil pressure light? The manual in the glove box will explain all the dash lights to you. Other then that a FSM is advised. You can purchase them on DVD form from MBUSA.

Hatterasguy..a bit OT here but do you regularly deal w/ Swans? I love their look! My father and I used to frequent the Newport show just to see them upclose.

No not as much as I like, I work on them a few times a year. Hoping to own one eventualy. Nothing is built like a Swan, real shame they don't advertise more in this country. Once you get used to the way Swan does things every other boat seems like junk.

If you follow the link in my sig thats my friends company, he won the Newport to Bermuda in 1999 on his 46, along with many other races.
