AIR Pump bearing removal
I have removed the pulley from the front of my AIR Pump. I notice that some of you have removed and replaced the bearing in the pulley.
How do you get it out and the new one back in? 1991 124 Thanks

Put it in a vise, the side in the pics you have face up should be face down, and have the jaws opened so it catches the outer circumference of the whole pulley. Then you should be able to pound it out with a drift.

Success!
I got a new bearing from bearingsdirect, a bit less than $30 delivered to my door. I put the pulley in the oven and the new bearing in the freezer. When they were done, I gently tapped the bearing into the pulley. Reinstalled the pump in the car and it works great. Very satisfying to do a potentially expensive job like this for $30! ![]()

That's fantastic. Would you please include the part number from bearings direct and maybe the moderator can include this in the DIY section. Perhaps you can post a few pics as well.
