Had a fun day at the autocross today. Then I get home and my rear window won't go all the way up, great. My friend had this happen and the plastic was broken on his, it seems this is what happens to most people in the archives. With mine, there is a metal piece that I had to rotate towards the front(psngr window), it has a notch in it that is apparently held by a separate piece. This separate piece came off and looks like |______| from the side, it has semicircles on the end so that it will ride on the guide wire. How can I get this back in place? Or is there something that holds this piece that broke?

The clip that holds it broke. I have been able to install a small screw into the metal and plastic at times when money was a big issue. For the price, I'd just replace it.

I second Benz's diagnosis. There is a black plastic clip that slides into the metal bracket from the bottom and it holds the plasic piece that is attached to the cable to the metal bracket. Without the clip the plastic piece will slide out of the metal bracket. Look for the clip or pieces of it at the bottom of your door panel... maybe you can reuse it if you can hold it in place with a little silicone or something like that.
