Could Idle Control break, bouncing off duct?

I replaced Idle Control Module and Air slide valve. Ran great for an hour, then returning symptoms. I noticed the Idle Control Module was resting on the HVAC duct and wonder if it could go bad bouncing off the duct. Possible?
