Power seating problem for 1995 Mercedes E320

I'm going to need some advice on what might be the problem on the power seats of my 1995 E320.

All the functions work fine except the moving back and front of the seat. The tilt works, the back works (reclines), even the raising and lowering of the seat works just fine. The only problem its the adjustment of how close (or how far) I want my seat to the steering wheel.

What makes it even more interesting is that the passanger seat has the same problem. The problem in the past used to come and go but now its permanent.

I don't have any memory seats.

I don't know if there is a spesific relay for just that function of the seats or what else could be the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you hear the electric motor trying to run under the seat?

Yes actually you can hear the motor clicking and running (trying to run rather) when I push the button....

what do you think that means?

Bad motor or a stripped gear. But in both???
