Can some tell me if there's a way to connect a laptop to my car to run a systems check?

I am not sure... but I think that there is a way to do this. If it's there for the general public, I do now know. Though you wouldn't get much information from your car, because it lacks OBD, but you do have a CAN that monitors several systems.
I have often wondered this question myself... would love to hookup my car to my laptop via the OBDII with a connector and some sofrware!

Good question! You might call 800-367-6372 (MBZ-NJ) and ask them, then post the answer.

There is no serial data transfer on that year model. The only cars that can be talked to with a laptop are 1996 and newer OBDII cars.
MB has a laptop that emulates the scanner that would talk to 95 on models but they want over $20k for it. Software is probably out there but the connection is the problem.

Steve, even though the C280 is a 1995, I have read this it is OBDII compliant, while the 1994 C class was only partially compliant.

Yes, the "C" class happened to be due for changeover at the onset of OBDII rules. All of the US models have the 16 pin OBDII connector. All the the prescribed testing was finally built in by 1996.
