C-240,2001,Timing:Chain,Camshaft,Engine
Does anyone know how to get around to timing this 112 V6 without the camshaft tools to position the notch inwards on both camshaft sides. The balancing shaft to line up without having to take off the flywheel. Thanks Leinad

You better post this in tech help. Don't these things have camshaft position sensors and all that stuff? It ain't as simple as dialing it in anymore, or is it?

2001,c-240,v6,112 engine,timing camshft,alignment method of counter balance
Timing of this needs the camshaft holders,is there a way around using them.Timing the whole engine the counter balance without taking off the flywheel to look into hole to have that part of the engine aligned. Thanks I am in need of some easier methods to time this as I repaced the connecting rods and piston rings and reassembled.

If you replaced the chain the new one will have 4 different colored links that line up with 4 marks on the cam, crank and balancer gears. balancer should be at 40 deg when the cam tools lock in.
