This purple color/paint is something I've never seen on the road. Is this some kind of optional factory paint?

lovely car. not a color combination that i would choose because i tend to get things a bit dirty. i dont recall seeing that color before but that doesnt mean much i dont think.

Looks like a factory color to me.

I've seen a 500E in a color very similar to that called Almandine red.

There is also a Bordeaux red that is very similar.

There's a W124 300D here in town that color,You'll see it occasionally on
Johnson Square.'Has less than 90K on the ODO.Well Maintained.

Have seen that color mostly on 190's,,, never on a 124.

No kidding. I'm absolutely in agreement with you on this. In about 2 years of looking for a 126 coupe to buy, I only ever saw two of them in California, and neither one was for sale. Usually they are seen with Palomino colored interiors. Even signal red (fire engine red) 124/126 coupes were more common.

Seen more rarely than this color is "blackberry" a kind of dark purple to red (factory) color.

You know what? Someone on the ShopForum bought a 300CE (or E320 coupe) on ebay in blackberry within the last year. It was a very low mileage, extremely clean car, and it didn't go cheap.

That was a factory color. I think it was called ROSE.
