My oil pan on 260E was damaged...good ole mechanic stripped the plug threads..I am looking for a good used one, but have had difficulty finding one...Is the engine on the 260 the same as the 2.6 190e or other model? Thanks for your help..Also if anyone has one for sale , let me know....

2.6 oil pan

The shop where I work has a 1989 190E 2.6 that we are salvaging and I believe the pan will fit your car. Check with someone with parts experience to confirm that it will fit and get back to me.

There are way to repair stripped drain plug threads. Most use an oversize self tapping replacement drain plug. Look into doing that before you leap into the expense of replacing the sump. They do work. It's the washer that really does the sealing trick..
