I recently purchased a 1981 500SEL. When I took it in to the smog station here in Stockton, I failed the Smog check due to excessive HC (HydroCarbon) emmissions.

At low idel, the maximum allowable is 120ppm, I was outputting 2392ppm.
At high idel, the maximum allowable is 150ppm, my output was 438ppm.

Help please.
