Does anyone know if the rear swaybar from the self-levelling suspension of the 500E fits a 1988 300TE?
How about the rear self-levelling shocks from a 500E into a 300TE? I just took our wagon to the track and it understeers considerably. Also I noticed that the torsion link between the swaybar and the lower-control arm/hub assembly is a metal rod for the 300TE ($22/each), and plastic (?) for the 500E. I'm thinking I should keep the metal ones? Thanks in advance, :-) neil |

I hope I can help-the swaybar on a TE is T-specific, so I seriously doubt that the 500E piece would fit. As to the rear struts, the 500Es are valved quite a bit differently, and have several components not found on other W124s (like extension-limiting springs & secondary elastomers that stiffen things up when the strut's compressed)-they'd probably work, but given their considerable price (around $400 per) I'd want to hear someone else's success story before I jumped in and bought a set.
Have you contacted AMG? AMG's done Wagon conversions, so perhaps they'd know what could/would work. Good luck!
