1999 S500 Airmatic
Looking at 500 on EBAY that the airmatic system fails every time the temperature drops below 0. MB dealer fixes and returns car but it fails again. Any ideas what could be wrong? Seems like cracks in struts or bad wiring would fail with heat.

i think it's the 2000 s500 that u've mentioned. i saw that ad too. dont think it's a good idea to buy something that the dealer can't even fix. is it the black one ?

Sounds like the dealer keeps bucking the car because it may not be acting up when it is taken to the dealer.
It's a very costly and problematic system, I would not buy one unless all four cells and the pump have been replaced, but that's just me. |

1999 S500 Airmatic
Yep it's the black one. Not about to buy it but thought it was an interesting problem. I've had lots of heat problems over the years in cars and trucks but can't really remember one brought on by cold.
