1986 420sel rear subframe bushing help!

I am attempting to replace my rear subframe bushing. I removed the old bushing. It is solid with the center hole. The replacement doesn't look the same. It is not solid

Also, the cover plate does not fit flush. Did you guys have the same problem?

Thanks,

Those mounts were modified back in 1990 due to knocking noises..that is why they look different.

Also, I seem to remember that those 2 big slots, or open areas in the rubber are supposed to point front/rear, not left/right. You might do a search here to confirm, I did those several years ago and the memory goes.

Does anybody remember which way they should be pointing? What about the cover, it doesn't fit?

Please help, I have to put them in tonight. I will try to search also.

Sorry for not getting back. Yes, the slots point frt-back. I checked mine and that's the way I installed them, based on something I read herein.
