190E (16v) AFM can you measure resistance?
I am currently wading through all the AFM threads but have one quick question to ask:
Is it possible to check if your AFM Air Flow Meter is working by measuring the resistance as you move the paddle? All the threads seem to be talking about measuring a voltage?? I disconnected the 3 pin plug from my throttle body and measured resistance between either pins 1-2 or 2-3 (not sure which). The resistance with AFM in its rest position was approx 2 kOhms, rising steadily as I pushed the AFM down by hand, up to about 11 kOhms max. Towards the end of the AFM's deflection the resistance actually went back down from 11 kOhms ending up at about 9 kOhms. Is this normal or does it mean anything? There were no big jumps, or 0 ohms or 'infinite' ohms positions. thanks Russell

Never mind I answered my own question (well actually another UK 2.5-16 owner did) Setting new Airflow Meter - 190 16V
