Have not tuned it yet, I am saving up for some H9DC plugs for my lowly 1800 dollar car.:D

'02 Porsche Turbo 95% Highway 25 mpg
'95 Porsche C2 95% Highway 27 mpg
'97 C280 95% Highway (5 Speed auto) 27 mpg
'95 C280 95% Highway (4 speed auto) 24 mpg
'95 VW Vanagon eurocamper (5 speed) 18 mpg

2.5Turbo 03-28-2007 11:00 PM

'90 300D 2.5 Turbo (OM602 5-cyl 2.5L motor) 32-34mpg highway. Got 36 once, but that was on a very tail-windy day ;) Averages about 30-31mpg in normal everyday driving.

'98 Volvo S70 GLT Turbo (2.4L 20-valve 5-cyl) gets about 24-25mpg on the highway. It's the dad's car, and he commutes about 70 miles round trip per day in it, so he does about 80% highway driving.

'91 Volvo 240DL wagon (2.3L 4-cyl), the doggiemobile, gets about 26-27 in everyday driving. It has gotten 30mpg before on the freeway, but that was while driving 55-60mph. It is a 5 speed.

'92 Ford F150 (5.8L V8). Need I say more? Best I think I've seen out of that POS is 15mpg. Mostly averages around 12mpg, seen it get to 10 or worse mpg while doing work truck errands around town.

So what kinda fuel mileage is Normal for my 300CD's? Some are Turbo's and some of the others are Non turbos..

Hatterasguy 03-28-2007 11:17 PM

300SDL, 23.5mpg, 80% city, 20% highway, with a lead foot.

So what kind of mileage do you E55 guys get? I kind of want one, but not if they get like 10mpg around town. :D

'99, ML430 17-22MPG 19MPG on highway roadtrips doing 75-80mph. 12MPG with boat in tow. Stinks with a 19gal tank!

'91 500SL 16-22MPG 21MPG on highway roadtrips doing 80-85mph

'93 500E usually around 16MPG as it gets flogged when it does emerge from the garage (26K miles!) Otherwise a little better than the 500SL.

'95 911C4 25MPG on highway roadtrips doing 80-85mph. My little farfegnugen! (econobox?)

Motorcycles... Who cares it is over 40MPG!

The paint color. It's sort of a dark bronze/brownish metallic paint. I've seen only a few cars with it, a late 126, my 124, and a couple late 201's. Paint code is 441 (441/8441 on paintscratch.com), seen it referred to as a few things...this one sounded the coolest :D It also keeps dirt hidden very well.

Mine is the 124 on the left:

91 190e 2.6 5-speed
28.3 mpg average over 5000 miles on Chevron Premium
45% highway-55% stop and go
I keep the revs under 4500 rpm and rarely go over 80 mph. Both are hard to do on this vehicle but it pays off at the pump...
I am not sure if the recent upper end rebuild has anything to do with the mileage, but it sure runs smooth.

dynalow 03-30-2007 12:18 PM

Not sure what it was, but it's worse with the ethanol blend.. by about 10% I'm guessin.

Dumb idea, except if your a corn farmer.

1989 260e with a leaking (but soon-to-be-replaced) EHA. 5-speed manual. granny shifting

13.89 liters / 100km
7.197 km / liter
17.407 mpg

30% highway; at most 69mph (110kph); never over 3000rpm
70% city
