fuel pump assembly (single to double pump??)
On the W124 platform, some of the earlier models use a single fuel pump assembly underneath instead of two. Is it possible to replace this single-pump assembly with one that uses 2-pumps? ie. is the fuel line and wiring harness etc. compatible?

Sure...why?
Under most circumstances 1 pump will do!

the cars with only one pump had diff injectors with a lower opening pressure.if you change to double pumps you may need to change them also.which brings it's own set of problems in that the line connections at the injectors may be a diff size.
