1992 SEL 600 ASR Warming Switch.. PLSE Help
I have recently purchased a 1992 SEL 600. After driving it for a short amount of time the ASR Warming Switch comes on, and the vehicle goes into limp mode. Anyone have any suggestions as where I can start to trouble shoot this? I have been reading through forums on a couple different sites but have not come up with anything that has been able to help me.
The ASR Warning Light turns on and off erratically. This vehicle has been parked and stored for a long period of time, could this have anything to do with poor electrical connections? ( Bad Grounds ) Is there a way to reset the main computer? With some of the other models a person can disconnect the battery for a period of time and have things reset not sure if this can be done on the SEL 600 or not? |

Have it scanned for asr codes ///Brake light sw is a common asr problem...cheap to change.
You also want to check that all tires have equal PSI ...the computer will pick up on the different tire circumference of a low tire and trip it... Last edited by Arthur Dalton; 04-10-2007 at 06:50 PM. |

You must have the car checked for stored fault codes. There are many things that can initiate this failure. The most common seems to be the Electronic Throttle Actuators. In my case, the car was throwing all sorts of codes related to the ETA's. Turned out to be the infamous disintegrating wire insulation. Read all about it here...
