Exclamation ESP activating on dry pavement...

...when going around curves - usually above 40 MPH or so - and no, I'm not "drifting". Yellow triangle in speedometer flashes and car seems to jerk and pull oddly to one direction or another. I assume it's applying the brake(s) in response to some phantom skid it's detecting. Turning off the ESP "fixes" the problem, even while it's occurring.

Vehicle: 1998 E320 4matic wagon

Wheel sensor going bad?

Most likely 1 of the tires is slightly "shorter" than the others.

Circumference differences of 3/8" or more can trigger the ESP.

Most likely NOT on that car(300E)...takes a difference of 3/4" of more for ABS to react & kigher speeds.
