Thumbs up M103 + CIS = a frustrated person with questions

Okay gang, some background info:

255k in the 300sel, all rubber has been replaced (vac lines and such). New injectors. New filter, new pump check valve (still on old fuel pump). New O2.

Car still is somewhat difficult to start, cold and hot (cranks more than it should). Tho' hot is easier. Has Bosch cap/rotor/plugs (non resistor)/wires. So that is good. I do have a new cold start injector coming

Recently per the site I have adjusted the fuel distributor at idle and now get a running, hot fluctuation of 41-48%. Before is was 33-37%, so I believe I am closer to what it should be at... people tend to recommend 40-50%. Is a certain percentage preferred over another?

Now one question I have, which direction richens up the fuel mixture? And would this be a higher percentage?

I did turn the EHA half a turn when I first bought the car (why, I can't recall). Would this be corrected for at the fuel distributor's base fuel mixture tower?

They tend to run better around 40%.

The lower the number ther richer the mixture.

What is the best place to set the mixture for emissions testing? Lean misfire perhaps? haha

I should probably also add something to this thread...my 300SEL has some of the same little annoyances that hit man outlined. Mine also has a slight misfire at hot idle, super smooth when cold. So I will be following this thread closely!

The fuel pump relay controls the cold start valve. Check to make sure the cold start valve fires when you turn the key to start.

Thumbs up

Cold start valve will be here tomorrow, so that may help. I'm going to do that before I adjust the fuel further.

Can the CIS system compensate for EHA adjustments?

And you need to be sure you hook up your duty cycle meter correctly so that 40% really means 40% rather than 60%.

I got like 5 extra EHAs if you want one to mess with....

I have been dealing with CIS issues myself...

Rough idle, power loss unless WOT, hesitation off the line.... Uggh....

Cold start difficulties, better when hot, but not perfect.

But like I said I can send you an EHA or two to play with if you would like....

Just cover shipping...
