S600 - 1998 (140) vs 2001 (220)
Comparing a 1998 S600 with a 2001 S600.
(I am aware that these r expensive beasts to maintain) Strictly comparing the 2 cars above, which car would u consider the better and why. What r the differences? Thanks for ur input. |

The M137 in the 200-2002 S600 is one of the WORST engines ever put into a Mercedes!!!!

You really think so? It's true, they don't have the power a V-12 should, but other than the well documented ignition system problems I've found them to be very reliable. Am I missing something Doc?

Oil leaks from the valley plate that costs 40-50 hrs...
Coil & coil module replacement...$1000+ each... Selective cylinder shut-off with a mind of its own... So bad they replaced it in 3 years! What other MB engine lasted less than 8 years??
