What to buy?

I just recently sold a motorcycle so I have a little money to play with. Therefore, I was thinking of trading in my 1992 400E for something newer. I really like the looks of the e-class between 1996 to 2000 so I'm wondering if it would be a good move on my part. My 400E with 118,000 miles is in very good condition with the exception of a little clearcoat peeling on one of the lower plastic panels. Otherwise it is mint and runs great but I'm just concerned with its age and mileage.

Any insights from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Also, what should I look for money wise for my 400E?

Thanks,

Bertrand

I have a late 1997 e420 and I love it. You would get the same great engine, the improved 5-speed transmission. Late production dates (after august) had the airbag and transmission valve body issues worked out. Otherwise, i would get a 2000 e430.

Late production dates - after August of what year, 2006? August 06 sounds like early production on a 97 model. August 07 sounds like early production on a 98 model which was not a 119 motor.
