86MB 190E driver seat not working

The forward and backward control for my 86MB 190E 2.3 driver seat is not working. All the other tilts were working fine but I disconnected them because one motor was very hot. (I assume this is the faulty motor.) The cable going into that motor would jump and click (on using the switch) but not activate. I took apart the control switch and saw that it was not making contact in the forward position. I cleaned it and made a shallower angle in the rocker. (And still it felt like it was not touching.) In connecting it up the seat automatically goes to reverse and stays there. I´ve disconnected the plugs into the seat and unbolted the seat from the frame and supporting it on a block to give me the height and reach I need to drive my MB.
