Fog light bulb install plus on '01/210

My right fog light bulb went out Thur, bought a new one installed it that evening. Nice clever way to access them, except you really need to jack up the front of the car. Sat. night went to take the car out to go to dinner, (anniversary) and noticed the left front head light was out. Well no time to change it, said to self I would do it Sun morning. Had to take friends and daughter to Baltimore Washington airport at 6:30 Sunday morning. No problem driving with one eye. As I was leaving the terminal amongest the traffic a Md. Transportation office jesters me over to the side...I'm saying "what goes, only moving at 10MPH". He say you have a head light out, I acknowledged it and he ask's for the usual lic. and reg. He comes back with a equipment repair ticket, duh, no points/money, just get it fixed, yes sir, will do ASAP! Bought a set of Silverstar replacements. I'll give an evaluation later in the week since I'll be putting about 400 miles on the car through Tues., some of which will be at night. Dennis

Also check the fuses. MB uses fuses for headlight operation .Sometimes they simply need to be rolled back/forth in the fuse box to regain function.

I can say the SilverStar replacement bulbs make a big noticable difference in night time driving. Glad I did it. Dennis

Hey, 'Stripe.

Aren't the headlight bulbs the easiest ones you've ever changed? They sure did that well.

I'm hopeful you'll have better luck with silverstars than I did. I never tried them in my 210, but in my last car (and in a friend's Denalis) their longevity wasn't very good, and while the light was better -- at first -- within a couple of months they were pretty much the same as a stock bulb. If they were the same price, I might consider them, but for 3-4 times what I can buy OEM's for, I'm not sold.

At any rate, take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
