That thing is bad a-s-s. I would love to have that parked next to my sl600 in the garage. They are both the same colors, Black.

Hmm, this is giving me an idea... A 600TE. I may be dreaming, but when I am out of college, it could be a possibility.

Scott Shell (Run.exe) is building a widebody 300TE. I am absolutely drooling over that thing. I am waiting to see the outcome. It will also be a nice lookin car.

Oh, and question for you. Do the W124 sedan, coupe, and wagon share the same dimensions?

Well, all you need to get into this one is about 40 G notes...

About one year's tuition at a private college.

Can you say Stafford loan???

I'll look at my owner's manual (and the new car sales brochure for my 300TE) and post the numbers. Then you guys with sedans, coupes, convertibles, etc., can post your own numbers.

I thought $40g was a good deal for that car; it won't go down in value.

$40 g's is a lot of money for that car. For 15 g's less one can find a mint Hammer(something more of a collectable than the wagon version) and have it shipped from oversea's.

Awwwwww what do YOU know...you are just an Ohio State fan...

I would tend to agree that 40 G-notes would normally be a lot of money for this type of car.

Three things detract from the car's price (in my opinion). 1. The holes on the passenger side of the console left behind by a cell phone installation. 2. The cheap, OEM steering wheel. I would want the leather, Benz sports steering wheel. 3. When they installed the Euro lights and removed the headlight wipers they apparently used the old cover panels and so you can see the holes where the wiper motors used to be. I would have used new panels like I did with my car, or at least cover up the holes.

On the other hand, this car seems to have "good provenance" (you need to read the ad on The Star, and that adds value to the car.

LOL... I'm more of a UCLA fan than OSU ;-) (dad taught dentistry at USC though )

Well... either way you look at it, 40 G's is a lot of money for a W124. And when the car is commanding a high premium.. it should be in the best shape possible. Those minor faults should NOT be there like you pointed out.

One thing I find strange is the AMG speedometer. I've seen several types of AMG speedometer.. one is only in Km/H and another is a rare Mph with Kmh. Since the car was US spec, and nearly all US car's I've seen(doesn't matter what make) have both Miles and Km/h on the speedo. I don't understand why it would only have Mph on the speedo. Either way... the jewel in the entire car is the engine of course.

Agree about the engine.

UCLA? What is that? Did they use to have a football team, about 30 years ago?

What years did your father teach dentistry at SC? I know a lot of dentists from SC including some who taught there. Their dental school is awesome. they do good work and they do a lot of good work on behalf of the local community. Good people all around.

Actually OSU is fine...I want them to beat the snot out of Texas (for obvious reasons). I just never liked UCLA...maybe it was the powder blue color...

Tell your son he has excellent taste in automobiles. Your son is lucky to get a 300TE. They are fairly fun to drive, especially with the bigger swaybars, and with stiffened springs on it. And also, tell him he needs to pull the factory stereo, and put in something a bit more clear. Then, he will have the ultimate driving machine.... A Mercedes-Benz Wagon.

And then there is neils 360TE AMG.... That thing has got to be fun too.

I think he does appreciate what he is getting.

He loved watching the awesome W124 video clips...problem is he now thinks he will inherit an indestructible car...

We got the sound system covered. Alpnine h/u (9851) with iPod and XM radio connections. We will soon install the Alpnine CD changer.
