Question Cleaning MAF?

Does it help to clean the MAF? Is it really possible to clean the MAF as others have suggested? I read the article below and it sounds very promising? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MVC-056St.jpg&imgrefurl=http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_S500.html&h=490&w=650&sz=63&hl=en&start=5&tbnid=FCrHHyQaDor6pM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmaf%2Bmercedes%2BE320%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den
HAS anyone tried this and what was your experience? I would hate to dish out $300 if this can be done. I have already bought the radio Shack fluid as is mentioned in the article but have not yet started the cleaning process. When I do this would are there any precautions that I need to take?
Thanks guys and you all have been great in helping out the new kid on the block.
