So my understanding from steve is that if I have an intermittent ABS light coming on after the engine is hot and with no sign of rough running it could still be the ovp?I have checked the fuse and it is fine but from what you guys are saying it still probably an ovp problem?
Would I expect a fall off in performance or gas mileage after the abs light comes on?
Very much look forward to hearing your views

The marvelous OVP has numerous ways of failing. Even though there is just one set of contacts inside, they branch to two output terminals. I have seen numerous times where just the ABS was being affected by the OVP.

hamish,
give it a shot...try to clean your front sensors and housing. This tends to accumulate lots of dirt that can affect the magnet. Measure the resistance, ..anyone that reads too low is about ready to go south. Hope this helps....

it's the ABS sensors that needs cleaning.

the front ABS sensors are located in your front wheel. Take a peek, ..you'll see that it is being secured just by one bolt. Remove the bolt, ..then twist and pull. I used a brake cleaning spray to maintain it. There's lots of dirt that can accumulate around it . Make sure that you clean the housing too before re-installing. Hope this helps...
Now, ..if your model has sensors at the rear, ..do the same thing....
