400E intermittent windows and sun roof failure to work

I have a 1992 400E and after anywhere from a month to a couple of months the windows and sun roof just stop working. They will stay inoperable for anywhere from a week to a few weeks, then they begin working again. Unfortunately everytime they have acted up has been during a period I have been too busy to get out the old volt/ohm meter and start tracking.

Any suggestions I hope?
