Disable SBC by removing battery/fuse possible?

Is it possible to disable the SBC of W211 by removing the battery or it's fuse?

I am pulling down my gas tank to investigate a leak and part of the procedure if you follow WIS is to remove the rear brake cables (foot brake). Doing this WIS wants to disable SBC. Unless it's OK to remove rear brake cables without disabling SBC?

I understand if you are changing pads that you really have to disable SBC for safety purposes.

Thanks for the tips!

Francis

Think you'd be better off removing electrical connector from SBC unit.

You approach creates lots of other problems not even related to brakes.
