1989 300E oil leak near transmission

My 1989 300E is leaking oil where the engine meets the transmission. Someone told me that it was the rear seal leaking. This is getting worse with each passing day. Is this a hard thing to repair and also how do I fix it?

Thanks

Fab

are you positive it is engine oil? Most likely rear main seal. you will have to drop the transmission to get into there if i am not mistaken. while fixing the seal, check to see if the oil contamination damaged any other rubber parts there and check the transmission for leaks to
