Defrost switch over valve, How to replace

What a great sight. I just purchased a 1985 300D 123 this past Sunday and was able to fix my tach problem with the help of this forum. It was the OVR relay. I started working on the AC unit, it works but air is coming out of the defrost vents as well as the center and side vents. I pulled the Driver's side panels and used a vacuum line to check the defrost pod. It works, noticed I did not have any vacuum off the red with white stripe line from the Defrost switchover valve. How can I get to the valve? Do I have to remove the center console? I'm sure the question has been asked, but I can't find a post telling how to do it. If any one can point me in the right direction I would be greatful.

I finally found a thread that helped me locate and access the switch over valve. The defrost switch over valve has open coil, so I need to replace it. I did find the CCU was burnt. I guess it took to much current from the aux pump. I have not looked at the pump to see if it draws to many amps. I did disconnect it so not to burn up the repair job I did to the circuit board traces.
