300SEL shocks

Replaced all four shocks on the car with Boge. The ride is very much the same as it wasa before. Was looking for a more comfortable ride. Still feel small bumps in the road.Is there something else which needs replacement.
Asked my mechanic about the subframe mounts and he said seldom they need replacement on my car. Says they are good.
How can I improve the car for a soft ride.
