How to tell if you have ASR
I'm having a yard pull a differential from a 1992 500SL for me. I need to tell this guy how to make sure that the car DOES NOT have ASR. I know that there are 2 cable inputs to the differential (ABS and ASR) if it DOES have ASR, only one if not. But - the guy seems kinda lazy and doesnt want to get under the car to look. Is there a way to tell inside the passenger compartment without getting under the car? I seem to recall when looking for 400Es that the gauges had a traingle in the middle that lit up when ASR activated. Is it the same in the 500SL?
Thanks, Troy K. 1995 E420 83k |

The triangle lights up for ASD also. The easiest way to tell I would think would be the ASR fault light at the bottom of the cluster. You have to look closely because it won't be lit. If there is no ASR there will be a blank where the indicator should be.
