1995 E420 mystery code ?

Hey guys,

My car just had the ETA replaced , but its throwing a code 26 on pin6? I cant find anything on a code 26 tho. The asr/abs lights came on today. Anyone got any ideas?

Also when i start the car with the a/c running the rpm sits at about 1000, while when i turn it off it drops to about 650.

Any help would be appreciated.

1995 E420 130kmiles

Joey

Thanks for the reply Arthur.

Gonna need a little bit more then that and i hope you can help me. Is that the R/F (right front?) VSS ? And if it is could that be set by my tires? I had a blow out a few weeks ago before i replaced the ETA and i purchased 2 tires in a differnt size, front tires 225/50/16 and rear they are 225/55/16.

I figured it was the voltage regulator at first since thats a common symptom for the asr/abs lights to be triggerd, but i have a steady 14.1v after checking with a multi meter.

All tire Rolling Circumference/pressure have to be the same w/ASR b/c there are wheel speed sensors on every wheel with ASR. They are compared by ASR/ABS module and your code 26 has picked up on an illogical signal at R/F sensor, so that fits the bill..or you have a bad R/F wheel sensor.

Problem fixed.

Had the 2 rear tires replaced today with the same size as the front and reset the code 26, problem fixed.

Thanks for the help arthur and never got to thank Deanyel for helping me put together a code reader awhile back. This forum is priceless!!
