Question fan clutch coupling body removal

I'm trying to get the fan clutch (coupling body) off of an 84 190e. I have the fan and pully off. The book says to unbolt the bracket and slide it off. Should I use a wheel puller? Cause its not just sliding off. I've tried using a couple of pry bars but I'm afraid I'll break it.

Just some backround.........The pump was pump was put in a year ago by the previous owner. My daughter just rear ended an SUV and we are rebuilding the car. I have replaced the radiator and fan, which got pushed in. I just noticed the new fan was loose yesterday after she had been driving it. It turns out the pump spindel had broken off the shaft and the pully was not attached to anything, just kind of spinning along with the belt.
