W210 AC blower not working
I have a 1999 e430 with 125k miles. This morning the ac blower would not start. The system did not show any fault codes and the actual values were as follows:
1-85 2- 87 3- 91 4-89 5-87 6-118 7-06 8-85 9-27 10-3.0 11-2.4 12-4.3 20-3.2 21-32 22-00 23-32 24-11.6 40-164 41-32 42-72 43-136 Your ideas on this will be appreciated. Thank you TwoJBAS 1999 E430 2006 E320 CDI |

W210's have a habit of having blower regulator problems.
Your numbers seem to indicate you didnt let the AC run before pulling the data (#3,4 & 8 are appreciably the same as #1)? #10 shows 3.0 volts to the regulator; if it wasnt blowing air, the fan or the regulator is probably at fault. Pay special attenion to chassis cutoff numbers if you plan to repalce the regulator. Some can be replaced, others must be retrofited uing a W140 reg or have the reg and blower both repalced.

It was the fan motor / regulator. I opened the cover and tapped the motor and it immediately started. I will try cleaning all the contacts and check all the connectors for losenes to see if that holds. If not I guess I will have to replace the parts.
Thank you for your help, TMAllison! TwoJBAS |
