Idles rough at stop light??????????

Hey all,

I just purchased a 1985 190E. I was told that someone tried to jump the car but reversed the positive and negative. Well the car runs good, and idles fine in park however, when i put it in drive, it idles really rough and sometimes dies.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Probably blown OVP relay fuse.

seeing as I just got this car last night, I have no clue even where to look for that? Any diagrams out there or can you point me in the right direction?

the OVP is located behind the battery, possibly behind a "false" firewall made of plastic, and its a tall relay w/ a fuse on the top. There are only three relays back there, and two look the same, so it should be the odd man out.

However, the idle can also be a vacuum leak, or any number of other issues (there are a myriad of things that impact idle - still haven't figured out what mine is), including motor mounts.

Thanks! I was told by the previous owner that the motor mounts have just been changed
