I was advised to disconnect the battery if the car was going to stand for any lenght of time
After reconnecting, the Hood and Roll Bar warning Lights remain on I have now been advised that each time the battery is disconnected I will have to go to a dealer to have it plugged to a computer to have it reset any sound advise?? |

I must of answered 5-6 questions today where the only the slightest of clues are given as to what car are we talking about. In this case the clue is the roll bar. Hmmmm, must be an SL or at least a converable. But, gosh this stuff changes by year.
Most adaptation will have to be reset after disconnecting the battery. Most will do fine by themselves. Most systems will be alright going through this trial. Occasionally a code will be set before things sort themselves out. That is when you will have problems. I would not expect problems as long as the key isn't on when the battery is disconnected.

Unless you are a purist about using OEM-brand batteries only, Sears has a "smart" DieHard battery that is just the thing for cars that sit for long periods of time. It keeps enough voltage available for startups, and shuts down only if it detects anything in the car that is draining it enough to prevent startups. Goes for about $150. I am thinking about getting one for my Bug, as I have added so much stuff to it, that it would take eons to figure out what gizmo is sucking the life out of my battery...

Hristo,
I am aware of that.. but you didn't state anything different, I thought you were referring to the synchronization of the roll bar or something like that...? Do you mean the synchronizing of the windows?
