w126 ABS Light then high idle?
I've searched a few mercedes sights, found posts about high idle and abs light causes but no posts about them together. My car is a 1989 560sel and my problem is my car will drive fine sometimes and then other times my ABS light will come on and my idle will raise from 7-800 or so up to 1,800 rpms. During some drives the abs light will go out mid trip and immediately my idle will go back to normal. Any help with what I should be looking for would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance. |

Thank you for the quick response. I did a little research on that relay and see sometimes you need to replace the whole relay while other times you just need a fuse. With my problems does it sound like I need the whole relay. Again thanks in advance for the advice.

Given the intermittant nature of the problem you describe, I would suggest the relay. If the fuse was blown the problem would be there all the time.
Cheers

If you are handy, you can try to resolder the board/pins..works sometmes for cold/cracked joints... many have had luck with such. Look for discoloration at pins............ replacement is positive.
They get old and the contacts themselves wear/pit. |
