88 300E wiring confusion

I repaired my front door panels and reinstalled them, and now the dome light only comes on when the passenger door is open. Also the key in the ignition buzzer comes on when the passenger door is open, nothing whem the driver door is open. The only time the courtesy light on the driver's door is on is when the passenger door is open as well. Did I cross wires on my reinstall of the courtesy lights? I am stumped. Any help appreciated.

There is a warning BUZZER that passes that info to the dome lamp.

Possibly when removing the door panel..the 2 wires that connect to the door opening lamp touched each other & damaged the circuit board on the buzzer.

MB DOC, could you tell me where the buzzer unit is located? Also, could it be that I have reversed the connections to the courtesy lamp? ( I am hoping for a simple cure) I have a U-Pull-It scrapyard nearby that is usually full of '80's 201 and 124 cars. Thanks.

the buzzer is in the "saftey hazard relay"; its behind the instrument cluster, bolted onto the firewall. Its a pain to get to, but not hard; biggest problem as I recall was not dropping the bolt into the neverneverland behind the dash.
