All will work but you need to have a Mercedes 38 pin to OBD2 adapter.

ZCC, for yourself or like a shop? My brother has a very basic autoxray, and he likes it.

For my '95 E320 I made one from an LED, a push button, three banana plugs and a plastic box. But you have to know how to count the flashes. I understand that some mechanics have a problem with that. My cousin could count to ten using his fingers; and when he took his shoes off, he could count to 22. That is, until he had the operation: They removed the extra toes because his shoes didn't fit. It also made that he could now only count to twenty.

It's for a shop to work on, but I'm going to use it

So, is one like yours not able to read all of the MB codes?

This is the one I have:
http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16309
It will read " Generic " codes, i.e. engine/emissions related items.
To retrieve Manufacturer-specific codes ( every little detail re. body, abs, transmission, etc ), you would have to spend thousands of dollars.

Thank you so much. This kind of information I was looking for years. Many many thanks

Just what do you want the scanner to do? I have an AutoXray but that is just for generic OBDII codes. If you want to scan codes for the transmission, body, interior systems, climate control, abs, airbag etc. you need something more advanced like the Assenmacher (now Programma) Retriever or Baum but those are going start at around $2,000.
