monovalve ?

turn the heat on ,then feel the hoses at both sides of the monovalve, if only one side is warm ,then you probably have a stuck closed monovalve plunger , repair kits are about $35 and are available right here from Phil, if you disconnect the wire at the monovalve , the plunger is supposed to open in a default mode , but that's only if power to it fails ,and it's not stuck closed, so it could be stuck closed..

I believe that the defroster will also work even if the monovalve is in need of replacement, will it not?

Do you think this varies from one model to the next? Someone mentioned it to me when they were suggesting ways to isolate heater problems.
