w124 firewall wire routing

hey everyone...

i have a 1995 E320 wagon. i installed a secondary horn in the engine bay below the front bumper. i want to run the wire for it back into the headunit (as a power source). i have managed to poke the wire through the rubber grommet in the firewall behind the brake booster. it looks like those wires run right behind the instrument cluster.

the problem: i can't find the wires from the inside of the car. does anyone have any tips on accessing the area where those wires come through the firewall?

i have already removed the carpet, the sound deadener, and the center console side panel. but i don't want to dismantle or damage anything uncesssary.

thanks everyone!

eric

There's probably more suggestions in the Audio section where I found this one...

Look for a possible point of passage through the firewall on the passenger side just behind main computer box. You will see many other wires running through the firewall at this point. I had a cell phone, hands free kit mounted with the wiring running through this area.

Or if you want to...

thanks bob! turns out the instrument cluster was the right answer!

but... a friend pulled upart the plastic piece beneath the steering column and saw the coat hanger i used to push the wire through so voila!

thanks!
