W210 Foglight Connector /Repair Harness

I got the MB harness repir kit (A000 540 21 05) for fixing the dodgy solder connections at the foglamp. It looks like you cut the wire and crimp two terminals on to attach the new piece.
Any words of wisdom from anyone who's done this before?
