First mecedes have some questions
Hi I'm jeremy, and I am the proud owner of a 88 300E
I've alot of cars and worked on all of them but this car is quite different. Problems: A) 300 RPM idle with a house shaking misfire, not sure what to do B) the accelerator is sometimes sticking making it go faster than I wish to; would clean the throttle body but it seems it doesn't have one, looks like a diaphram C)brakes go all the way to the floor pumping the brakes makes no difference; odd, thought that bleeding and changing the brake fluid may help it along with new pads and rotors preferably performance if anyone can help me find some ie: drilled or slotted rotors D) transmission is kind of jerky; change the fluid and maybe a trans filter kit E) driver power seat not working; where is the fuse pannel? or how do i fix F)have an exhaust leak, wish to help it flow better and sound better any suggestions would be nice G) Is the bolt pattern 5x112 or is there more and what other cars have the same pattern thank you for any info you can give me it is greatly appreciated |

Before doing any "spruce-up" work like wheels..start with a compression test & basic tune-up. Getting the engine running correctly might help the trans sahifting as well.
