Where to get HID's for 1993 W140
Looking to swap out the stock bulbs with some HID's. I live in suburbia and the extra light output would help during night driving. Anyone know where I can pick up a reputable set and not have to re-finance my home?
Thanks, Agron |
it's not that straight forward. just be aware that such a conversion is
technically illegal. at worst (and with worst quality) is buying an HID kit/ballast/D2R bulbs and to cram them into your car. uncontrolled glare is likely to be the result. next would be to buy OEM projector/reflector and do a Dr Frankenstein on them...into your car. Performed correctly, you should have quality beam, though lacking in the autolevel feature found in originally equipped HID cars. |
There is no such thing as a "reputable" (or functional for that matter) HID conversion except to replace entire headlight unit for one designed from the start for HID.
This doesn't exist for W140. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html Look into brighter halogen bulbs. |
