Transmission losing oil

I have a 89 300E and just recently it started to lose transmission oil. It does drip a little, but not at the rate it is disappearing.

Is there a vacuum modulator in these transmission where the vacuum rubber ruptures and gets sucked into the intake manifold?

I plan on checking the plugs this weekend for oil and the antifreeze too.

Any thing else I should look into?

Better make sure it's not mixing with your coolant...

Check the vacuum hose at the intake coming from the Vacuum Modulator for signs of fluid. Mine was leaking and burning trans. fluid through the engine. I replaced the VM about 3 years ago and no problems since.

I couldn't find the vac. line at the manifold, so decided to pull plugs instead. #6 looks fine, dry and normal. Also compared with a few others and firing end looks consistant.
Luckily or unluckely, I had my water pump replaced recently and I knew the color of antifreeze should be good and I do not see any signs of oil in the overflow tank.

Next seems to be getting under and look for signs of oil.

Any particular areas to start ? Any known weak O rings?
