Done with my new lights project.
Here are some images. If anyone needs help with installing and/or wiring Euro lights to a W124 Benz, let me know and I can give you helpful some pointers. OEM US-spec lights on 1991 300CE http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...E/52f01443.jpg Euro lights. Old panels (with holes for the headlight wiper) still in place under headlight assemblies. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...E/d75ec05c.jpg Euro lights with new, painted panels. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...E/c994881f.jpg Euro lights. Low bean, city lights and fog lights on. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...E/61d68643.jpg The light assemblies are from DEPO. Bulbs are all Sylvania Silverstars. I had installed BOSCH in my soon-to-be-my-son's 300TE. But after reading some of the posts here, and getting advice from people like John Hef, I decided to go with DEPOs for the 300CE. The differences, if any, are hard to tell. Electrically the only difference is that the DEPO city light uses a 168 or 198 push-in mini bulb. The BOSCH use the more standard T4W bayonet mount bulb. |
Hi Benz,
the new headlights do make a difference. Nice job! |

WOW.
Check out this 1988 AMG 300CE I little pimped out for my taste, but probably a real one of a kind. |

I've owned mine for 12 years (I'm 2nd owner) and have 219,000 miles on her (040 Black w/ Palomino). I installed the OE sportline suspension several years ago and love it. Anybody have a rear facing child seat in their CE? I'm looking for a "convertible" childseat that can grow with the child, but still fit in back. |

Just picked this up last night. It's a 93 300CE 24 Sportline with an AMG body kit and wheels. Need to clean it up and tweak a few things but overall, it's in pretty good shape. It also has a Remus exhaust which I haven't decided to keep on it or not. Whatcha think?

I like to remind everybody whenever a 1993 model is brought up that 1993 is the year of mis-badging. Mercedes went to the 3.2 liter M104 engine in 1993, but didn't bother to change the badge to 320CE (like in Europe), or just E320 like they did in 1994. |

Also, I just noticed that I now have three 320's. :D |
Kevin,
You need to run away and hide because you STOLE that car for the price. Those Sportlines are a beautifully integrated package, and very rare. It's a true cut above the standard CE, yet still subtle in it's modifications. It's really beautiful, in that color....KEEP the Remus system, by all means. They are one of the very best for the 124/126 cars and they look VERY good, even better than the AMG. They were expensive, about $800 or so just for the muffler and tips, 10 years ago, and did give you about 3 hp extra, and their sound is just right, too. They are of superb Austrian quality and have always been failry hard to find. Whoever had that car before had good taste. The 24V bootlid badges are quite commonly seen on the cars in Europe, and would look good on your car too... Maybe one will turn up on A fine addition to your stable, and well VERY well bought, maybe at near half retail price all things considered. |
