You need to be a little more patient! People don't sit and monitor this forum constantly, so you sometimes have to wait several days before everyone has a chance to see your post. In the mean time, feel free to use the "search this forum" button at the upper right. It works wonders!

That being said, I'd start by checking for blown fuses and go on from there. There should be a fuse box under the hood on the left side of the car and one in the trunk on the right.

The door locks, headrests and trunk release are all tied to the PSE pump which is under the passenger rear seat bottom.

If your headrests retract with the push of a button, but you have to manually pull them back up, then the above is true. If there's a button on the dash that allows you to retract/extend the headrests, then they're not controlled by the PSE pump, but the other functions noted above still come from the PSE pump.

Try this test -
get in the car and close the doors. Without turning the key on, just press the door lock button (on the dash in your year model, I think). Do you hear a pump running under the passenger rear seat?

If not - it's either fuses blown or the pump is shot. These are expensive from the dealer, but relatively available via e-bay. R&R can be handled by even the most inexperienced.

If the pump isn't running, then you probably don't get the pop-out handle when you open the trunk, either - and your lumbar supports will be kaput as well.

There's a fuse (or 2) in the trunk fuse box that control that device. Check those. If they appear fine, pull them for about 5 minutes and replace. Try the accessories again.

If the fuses are fine, then the pump is probably kaput. See above note for sources.

The passenger seat being dead? All functions no-worky? Most likely the seat controller module which is mounted under the seat itself. Check e-bay for those items, too - they show up from time-to-time. The bad part about that system is that I'm pretty sure the seat has to come out to gain access to the control. If you can't get the seat to move forward or back, you can be in real trouble to get the bolts out to remove the seat.

Heated seats - for the front seats the power comes from the front fuse box - check the fuse. For the rear seats, the power comes from the rear fuse box - check the fuse. If the fuses are fine, then the controllers are probably shot. Those are mounted under the rear passenger seat, adjacent to the PSE pump I mentioned earlier.

It is also possible that the heating elements are bad, but I think the lights on the buttons would still illuminate.

Steering wheel not moving is either:
The switch
The motors (there's one for up/down and another for in/out)
The memory module, which I think is up under the passenger front floorboard.

I'd suggest strongly that you purchase a membership to AllDataDIY.com. I've used that resource with great success. Register through the link on v12uberalles.com to get a few $ thrown to the fellow that manages that great site for 140 owners.

Hope this helps.

As the other poster noted - not everyone reads every post, and not everyone is on the board all the time. Post, wait and be patient. If you don't get an answer within 24 hours, I personally consider it ok to bump the thread - just post a reply with "bump" in the text. It does occur that sometimes posts get missed.

yeah i do hear a noise whem i put the key in the ignition and turn it, sounds as if the pump is working... but still the auto locks dont work, the trunk, etc...

can it be that maybe the hoses are clogged somehow?

but it doesnt make any noise if i press the button with the keys in or out

1998 S320 pse pump

My car locks stopped working. I took it to the dealer and they told me I needed a new pse pump. The cost of a pse pump $832.00 plus a couple of hours of labor!!. Thanks to Brett from v12uberalles.com, I have done the following: removed fuses # 9..(did not work) located pump and removed plug and airlines to reset.(did not work) removed the pse pump and opened it ,adjusted the preassure switch and still did not work! Anything left to do?? I'm confused on something....my locks do not work, but my doors are working fine, when I close them the suction pulls them closed. I thought that was a function of the pse pump. Any help will be appreciated.

P.S Where can I buy a pse pump at a reasonable price??
