BAS sensor problem

Does anyone know how to check the BAS solenoid inside the Brake booster? I have a 1999 CLK320 with code c1332, BAS solenoid. After trying to reset the computer the code comes back in after a couple of days. I do not want to replace the brake booster without at least checking what is wrong. There are two different sets of wires connecting to the brake booster. Does anyone know which of the two sets of wires connect to the BAS solenoid or how to check the sensor? Thanks John

usually the travel sensor fails, as it seems you may know, the entire booster unit usually gets replaced
