This clip (?) fell on my foot when I drove off this afternoon. It must've fell out from under the dash above the driver's footwell, or maybe out of some pedal assembly. I didn't notice any problems driving home.

FWIW, the bent up part (closest to the quarter in the third pic) looks & feels like it has a light grease on it.

Any idea what it is and where it goes?
